Michael Aitken AM

Mike acts as our Chairman and is the founder and chief scientist of the CMCRC. A serial entrepreneur, he also established SIRCA, the SMARTS Group and Capital Market Technologies, and led the development of the Thomson Reuters Tick History Service. He acts as the lead expert in capital markets and is spearheading the extension of fraud detection in health markets to the efficacy of health intervention. In recognition of his significant service to the education, business and finance sectors of the nation, Mike was inducted as a Member of the Order of Australia in 2014.

In 2016 he was awarded the Prime Minister’s prize for Innovation in Science.

Ann Leduc

Ann acts as our Managing Director and most recently led the regulatory practice of the CMCRC, building on her wide-ranging experience in capital markets. Prior to joining us, Ann was the founding Secretary-General of the CSA, the council of securities regulators in Canada. In addition to her regulatory experience, she led the management and trading of bond and currency portfolios at the National Bank of Canada, OMERS and Natwest Canada, and taught finance at McGill University. Ann holds an MBA from York University, a BA in Economics from McGill University and is fluent in English and French.

She was named one of Canada’s Most Powerful Women in 2008.

Shan Ji

Shan acts as our CIO and is a specialist in data infrastructure and financial market surveillance. He was most recently the Chief Information Officer of the CMCRC where he led the activities of the central development team and continued to publish research in securities market integrity, most notably in the Journal of Business Ethics and the British Journal of Management.

Vito Mollica

Vito is Professor of Finance at Macquarie Graduate School of Management and leads the Finance Market Quality program of the CMCRC (now RoZetta Institute) which covers foreign exchange, derivative, real estate, equities, digital currency and OTC markets. He has provided research and consulting services and prepared policy advice for these markets and, in recognition of his success at bridging industry and academia, he received the 2018 Australian Council of Graduate Research Award for Excellence in Promoting Industry Engagement in Graduate Research.
